This year’s Apple Cup was determined to be a fierce one. The Washington State University (WSU) Cougars football team had dominated much of their season before a serious injury left their quarterback out of the game. The University of Washington (UW) Huskies football team was having a difficult season, but slowly clawing their way back with something to prove. Apple Cup, a friendly rivalry game dividing all of Washington’s football fans would only crown one winner. Relish Burger Bistro decided it was time to get in on the action and determined which team’s fans were the loudest, the proudest, and of course the hungriest with a friendly Battle of the Burgers competition. We put our Cougar burger and our Husky burger head to head. At stake: the winning school would get their flag flying high atop the Westin Seattle roof the morning of Apple Cup. Fans who wore their gear also received 25% off their gear all week long. And with pride on the line, our restaurant filled up……with Cougar fans. Cougar fans outweighed their Husky competition 10 to 1, diving into their delicious burgers made with their school’s own Cougar Gold Cheese (made by the school’s own creamery). The morning of Apple Cup the Coug fan waved proudly for all to see. Until next year……
